My mission.
As a candidate for Probate Judge of Benzie County, my mission is to serve the community with integrity, fairness, and respect. If elected, I would be committed to upholding the law while ensuring those who enter my courtroom are treated with dignity and respect. My goal is to reinstate sobriety court to help those who are struggling with alcohol addiction. In family court, I will focus on addressing child neglect and abuse cases, and ensuring that our juveniles are safe and protected. With a deep commitment to community service, I am highly active in county activities and dedicated to improving the lives of others.
My story.
Growing up in Benzie County showed me the value of hard work. After graduating from Grand Valley State University (go Lakers!), I found myself at a crossroads; dive into the workforce or follow my newfound passion for the Constitution and law. That passion soon became a reality, and before I knew it, I was graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and passing the Bar Exam.
Upon graduating from law school, I worked for a law firm out of Grand Rapids. To my dismay, it was not the fit I was hoping for. Without hesitation, I returned to Benzie County towards the beginning of the pandemic. With not many law opportunities and no desire to open a practice, I dove into the community as a substitute teacher and middle school wrestling coach - knowing someday I would return to law.
Fast forward four years later; I have been working as Assistant Prosecutor for Benzie County and have a beautiful family by my side.
This experience has provided me with the knowledge and confidence to take this next step in my career and give back to the community even more.
As Probate Judge, I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure our community's citizens receive the best representation possible.
